Preventing Violence, Promoting Peace: A Policy Toolkit for Preventing Interpersonal, Collective and Extremist Violence

This policy toolkit adopts a public health approach to violence prevention through the identification of risk factors for involvement in violence and the promotion of evidence-based measures that target such risk factors on a population basis. The document focuses on preventing violence at the earliest possible stages rather than dealing with established violent behaviours. Importantly, it brings together knowledge and evidence on all types of violence directed at others, including interpersonal violence, collective violence (war and gang violence), and radicalisation and violent extremism (RVE).
